Tea is a renewable resource

It’s funny – after being married for more than 6 months, it still surprises me sometimes how well Adam knows my little idiosyncrasies. For instance, on days that I’m off, I’m usually slow to get my morning started (something about not having to wake up at 5:30 am). I get up between 8-8:30 am, sit at my computer in my robe, and read my e-mail, the news, and blogs. Adam will begin his day at work and make a pot of tea. He always offers me a cup, I usually say yes, and when he places it on my desk I often forget it’s there. Most of the time, I only manage to drink half the tea before it goes stone cold. Occasionally, Adam makes me a half cup, thinking that I might actually get through it before I forget it. I probably sound terribly scattered, but apparently I have a hard time drinking tea and being able to do things at my computer at the same time. I really like tea, and I always mean to finish it, but most of the time that just doesn’t happen…

This morning, Adam was making some tea and asked if I wanted some, and I said yes. I was already reading news articles and such, and when he brought it over he said, “Shall I cut out the middle man, and just pour this down the sink now?”. We both laughed, and it made me think how well this man knows me.

I just started to make a marinade for dinner and what did I do? I poured the last 1/4 cup of my tea down the sink…
